About NCC

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ranchi is a youth development organization that aims to nurture disciplined, responsible, and socially conscious citizens. The NCC unit provides students with opportunities to develop leadership qualities, a spirit of adventure, and a sense of national integration through structured training, camps, and community service activities.

The core objectives of NCC include character building, comradeship, discipline, leadership, a secular outlook, and ideals of selfless service. Through participation in NCC, cadets gain exposure to teamwork, physical fitness, and organizational skills that contribute to their overall personality development.

Training & Activities

The NCC unit at IIIT Ranchi organizes a wide range of training programs and activities aimed at holistic development of cadets:

• Institutional Training: Weekly parade, drill, physical training, and classroom lectures.
• Camps: Annual Training Camps (ATC), Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC), and special camps.
• National Level Camps: Republic Day Camp (RDC), ThalSainik Camp (TSC), Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), and others.
• Social Service Activities: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, awareness campaigns, and disaster relief support.
• Adventure Activities: Trekking, mountaineering, shooting practice, and obstacle courses.

Enrollment Procedure

Interested students can enroll in the NCC unit at IIIT Ranchi as per the guidelines issued each academic year.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a bonafide student of IIIT Ranchi.
• Must meet the medical fitness standards prescribed by NCC.
• Willingness to undergo training and participate in camps.

Selection Process:

• Notification for enrollment will be released on the institute website and notice boards.
• Interested candidates must submit the application form within the stipulated deadline.
• Shortlisted candidates may be required to appear for a physical fitness test and interview.
